Silicone Art Vol.1

Inspired by Kohei Nawa’s Installation

One of the most captivating works I’ve encountered is by artist Kohei Nawa, who created a mesmerizing installation using black silicone oil dripping from the ceiling—an exploration of space, gravity, and perception.

Force – 作品|大地の芸術祭

His piece, titled Force, was exhibited at the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale and evokes the invisible yet omnipresent force of gravity by allowing silicone to flow continuously, altering the viewer’s perception of the surrounding space.

Watching silicone, I too have often wondered: Can gravity be made visible?

My own concept has been forming slowly over time. I imagine transparent lines distorting space, while gold streams run through them in straight paths, making the invisible visible.

Even if space is warped, everyday life flows as if nothing has changed.
Calmly. Unshaken. Inevitably.

When the time and emotion align, I hope to create this piece myself.
